ACCIDENTAL UNIVERSE?
I have this hunger in me… everywhere I look I see evidence of a creator. February 1982 ー Bono: In His Own Words ー Dave Thompson (Published 1998)
I don’t believe that we just kind of exploded out of thin air, I can’t believe that. February 1982 ー Bono: In His Own Words ー Dave Thompson (Published 1998)
We refute the belief that man is just a higher stage of animal, that he has no spirit... when people start believing that, the real respect for humanity is gone. You are just a clog in the wheel, another collection of molecules. That’s half the reason for a lot of pessimism in the world. June 1983 ー Bono: In His Own Words ー Dave Thompson (Published 1998)
It is my belief in God that enables me to get up in the morning and face the world. I believe that there is a logic and a reason for everything. If I didn’t believe that and thought that everything was simply down to chance, then I’d be really afraid. I wouldn’t cross the road for fear of being run over. February 1983 ー Bono: In His Own Words ー Dave Thompson (Published 1998)
I believe that there is a real purpose for being alive and being on this earth, and kind of getting a job and getting married. See if you start telling people that we just exploded into existence and we’re going to explode out again any minute, they start to live that way. If you start telling everyone that we’re all really animals, then maybe they start to act a bit like that. I think that man is very special, and has great qualities. April 1985 ー Interview with WAPP Hot 103 (New York, USA)
